Testing
Testing your Web site isn’t a one-time, standalone step, but rather something you’ll need to do often. You cannot test your site too much! Unfortunately, it’s hard for the site developer to perform a truly good test of the site: He or she
created it, so he or she knows how it should work and uses it accordingly.
A better test is what happens when your family, coworkers, and annoying friends give the site a whirl. And I specify the annoying friends, because they’re the ones who will attempt to do things you never would have imagined. When these people, who aren’t Web developers themselves, purposefully or accidentally misuse the site, what happens? From these experiences you can improve the user interface and security of the whole application.
PCI Compliance Issues
Continuing our previous articles about legal issues, there is another legal issues you need to know, PCI Compliance. PCI DSS, is short for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. This is a specific set of rules for ensuring secure, proper handling of credit cards by all commercial vendors. Any company that processes, stores, or transmits credit card information must follow these guidelines, thereby being PCI compliant.
You absolutely do not want to store the user’s credit card information! There are companies that do that, yes, but that’s their full-time job and they have the knowledge, resources, and money to do that properly. Still, even taking credit card information on your site and passing it off to another company means you should be PCI compliant. The specific requirements differ based upon what you actually do with credit cards and how many transactions per year you process.
CMS and E-commerce
As the first articles, I’ll try to describe about CMS and E-commerce. CMS which is stand for Content Management System, is a free web source that we could found on the internet. Although at the beginning some people doubt it, especially for its security and compatibility, but till know web masters like to use it.
The reasons are simple, cause its free, easy to modify, and doesn’t need to start it from a scratch. How about E-commerce, an electronic commercial system which are use as electronic shopping, are became trends as well as the internet usage kept on increasing each years.
